Welcome to Umbria and the Northern area of the Upper Tiber Valley.
The upper Tiber valley extends around 40 km. From Sansepolcro to Umbertide. This area is wedged between Tuscany, Marche and Umbria. The area is crossed lengthways by the Tiber river. It is easy to travel to the other 7 major towns:- Citerna, Lisciano Niccone, Monte Santa Maria Tiberina, Montone, Pietralunga, San Giustino e Umbertide.
Città di Castello is also an ideal starting point for places which allow you to uncover local Umbrian characteristics :- Lake Trasimeno (90km), Gubbio (50km), Perugia (60km), Assisi (65km), Spello (75km),Foligno (80km), Spoleto (105km), Orvieto (125km), Terni (130km), Norcia (140km) or visit other historic towns of the Upper Tiber Valley such as Sansepolcro (15km), Anghiari (20km), Cortona (50km),Arezzo (50km). You may even venture as far as Marche where you are able to find the splendid city of Urbino. When you arrive in the Upper Tiber Valley you will be able to see precious works of Art cared for in the many museums.
