Renaissance palaces overlook this square, as well as one of the oldest hotel's in Umbria, still providing a service .In the centre of the piazza there is a bronze monument, carved by Elmo Palazzi in memory of 11th September 1860, when the Piedmontese army freed the town from Pontifical domination.
